Welcome to the forth chapter of a new curatorial series and space by Trine Stephensen / The Plantation Journal. A Corner With intends to highlight one artists' practice each month, through an exhibition of work created in the space in the month leading up to the opening. A Corner With Yoshi Kametani presents 945° C. 945° C is a survey into layers upon layers of destruction. Combining the physical damage caused by the fire with the digital corruption of the recorded file, the work ponders the line between beauty and violence, and creation and decay, with entropy being at its core.

We spoke to Nat Ward about his inspiration. "I draw upon a hodgepodge of influences like an early professional training in classical music, family history, my admiration for simply written realist fiction, the use of allegorical narrative in American popular music, the specific geo-political and social histories of certain landscapes, and the stories I hear from people who live in the places I photograph."

Roman Road & The Plantation Journal is pleased to invite you to the book

MDAM

Marie
Edited by Trine Stephensen / The Plantation Journal
MDAM is a collaboration
between The Plantation Journal and artists Mia Dudek and Alix Marie made on the occasion of their
eponymous exhibition at Roman Road. This new publication takes a compelling look at the artists'
experimental approaches to photography and sculpture. While their current exhibition gathers
installations and more sculpture-based works, the MDAM book is a playful puzzle that brings together
their photographic practices exploring bodily matters.
The Plantation Journal is an art
initiative and project space, run by Trine Stephensen, showcasing explorations within the curatorial and
photographic fields in the contemporary arts through exhibitions, workshops, events and publications. It
presents a carefully curated selection of photographic works related to sculptural photography. MDAM is
exploring the format of an exhibition catalogue, introducing work that is not necessarily seen in the
show, but that has been essential for the creation of the exhibition at Roman
Road.
